Markerstudy Group, known primarily for insurance, has shown that the other strings to its bow are being lubricated, and liberally.

They have, in the last few days, completed the acquisition of E J Markham & Son, thought to be the oldest pawnbrokers in Essex. The Colchester-centre shop joins the retail division of the Group, alongside Wessex Jewellers and Pawnbrokers.

With five locations throughout the south east, Managing Director of the pawnbroking and jewellery arm, Mark Taylor, confirmed that the E J Markham & Son business will be expanding, with two new members of staff recruited to focus on high-end watches and jewellery.

Group CEO of Markerstudy Group, Kevin Spencer, commented at recent employee roadshows that he anticipates continued organic and acquisitive growth in all areas of the business in 2012.
