It was business as usual for Markerstudy over the summer, with the acquisition of specialist insurance broker and claims administrator, Supercover, in a deal worth over £20m. The FCA regulated business, a market-leader in its field, joins Markerstudy’s burgeoning Retail arm.
Supercover was established in 1995 to provide extended warranty and insurance to the customers of mobile phone retailers. Over the last 20 years, its business model has expanded to encompass a wider range of specialist insurance products, covering most portable electronic devices and gadgets. It now services more than 1.5m policyholders via 200 channel partners, across several industries from its base in North West London.
