We would like to make you aware of a critical safety issue that may affect your vehicle. Stellantis UK has announced a ‘stop drive’ order that requires urgent attention from affected owners. Please read the information below carefully to understand what vehicles are impacted and what steps you need to take.

What’s happened?

Stellantis UK has issued a ‘stop drive’ order for the following vehicles:

  • Citroën C3 second-generation models made between 2009 and 2016.
  • Citroën DS 3 models made between 2009 and 2016.
  • DS Automobiles DS 3 models made between 2016 and 2019.

What does ‘stop drive’ mean?

Anyone who owns one of these vehicles must stop driving it as soon as it is safe to do so.

What should you do?

How does this affect your policy?

  • Vehicles must be roadworthy and safe to drive.

A condition of your policy is that vehicles must be roadworthy and safe to drive. If your vehicle is affected by this stop drive notice, it’s considered not safe to drive. It should not be driven until the vehicle has been repaired.

  • You are still covered for fire and theft.

If the vehicle is damaged whilst parked or involved in a theft or fire, this is still covered under the policy conditions.

  • Your safety and other road users.

If you choose to drive your unsafe vehicle and an incident occurs, our Claims Team will assess the claim on a case-by-case basis. We urge you to consider your own safety and also the safety of other road users.

Please note, driving a vehicle that is in a dangerous condition could lead to a fine of up to £2,500 or even a driving ban.

If you have any questions, please contact the insurance provider you purchased your policy from.
